get help when you want it.

• Talk to your doctor. He or she can help you find the best way to get
help based on your needs. You can talk to them about your
problem.
• MHNet is U-First's mental health provider. You can call MHNet
at 1-800-835-2094 to find help near you.
• You can go to the U-First website at www.univhc.com. On the website,
there is a guide to resources in your county. Use these
tools to find help.
• Call the Florida Substance Abuse Program office.
They have help in your area. Call 850-487-2920 or online
at www.dcf.state.fl.us/mentalhealth/sa/

Substance abuse is an over indulgence in any drug. Substance abuse often leads to
addiction. Substance abuse can harm both your mental and physical health. Substance
abuse can include any of the following:

• Alcohol, binge drinking
• Tobacco; cigarettes or smokeless tobacco
• Marijuana
• Inhalants, like glue, aerosols, etc.
• Cocaine
• Heroin
• Ecstasy
• Over the counter medicines

Drugs can be dangerous, even medicine that your doctor prescribes. All medicine
should be taken as directed. Alcohol and tobacco are drugs too. Talk to your doctor
about all the medicines you take. If you think you have a problem, your doctor will
be able to advise you.
