Pregnancy Prevention

Are you ready to be a parent?

There are many things to think about before having a baby. Talk to your doctor. Find out about birth control. There are several methods to choose from. Know your options. U-First covers many types of birth control at no charge, including the patch, pills, injections and the ring. U-First provides yearly visits for family planning at no charge. Talk to your doctor and take control of your life.

Saying "NO" is also an option

Abstinence is the safest birth control. No birth control is 100% effective. Abstinence is the only definite way not to get pregnant. The choice is yours. Saying "no" means there are no dangerous side effects of birth control. Saying "no" means there is no chance of getting pregnant. Saying "no" gives you control of your life. Why abstinence is worth thinking about:

     •  During 2004, teenagers between 15 and 19 accounted for nearly 20,000     STD's1
•  One in three sexually active teenagers in Florida gets an STD1
•  Chlamydia affects 3 out of 4 sexually active teenagers in Florida who have1
    acquired an STD1
•  Since the year 2000, 118,700 teenagers in Florida became pregnant2
